I read/listened to the story "Police dog's life in danger".
http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/learningenglish/newsenglish/witn/2007/01/070129_agata.shtml
The story was about a 5 year-old labrador who works for the anti-narcotics agents in Colombia at the frontier [Airport and docks] . Agatha [the dog's name] has been very succesful in her job discovering more than 300 Kl. of cocaine so far sniffing out the luggage, this is the reason why traffickers have putted a contract on her life for a huge amount of money.
To this threat the police assigned bodyguards to the dog and her handler to avoid any chance of poisoning.

You have got the gist of the story very well here Camilo and it's easy to understand and well-written (even if a bit short!).
Just a couple of points:
Check your work carefully before finishing so you avoid little slips like "putted" instead of "put".
Also, you need a verb in the last sentence to say why the police assigned bodyguards - "To counteract this threat..."
